Macarons have a well-deserved reputation for being fickle and difficult, but in this class Tom will show you how to take the mystery out of the process. In this hands-on class, participants will work both individually and in small groups to learn the techniques and details that will lead to consistently beautiful results. By the end, you will make and take home a dozen (or more!) of your own colorful, delicious macarons.

In this class you will learn:

Practical methods for removing variables from the macaron-making process

The small but important details that lead to more consistent results

The French method for making a stable meringue

The nuances of macaronage (mixing the batter), piping techniques, and how to understand your oven

Recipes and creative ideas for fillings so you can give these fantastic cookies your own flair and signature style

About the Chef... Tom Apedaile (AKA The Bearded Baker) learned to bake as a child in his mother's kitchen. As he grew up, he fell out of love with the kitchen until he began watching The Great British Bake-Off. Something there, ignited the fire within him again. You will love how Tom takes his background in mathematics and physics and applies these skills for precision and detail in his baking techniques. Tom's motto is "Food that we share is an expression of ourselves and forms lasting bonds and memories."
